My internship at Create, by João Monteiro
I started an internship at Create IT to study ETL tools in the cloud to find a more efficient solution for a product that the company develops.
During the internship, I learned to use various tools offered by Azure and programming languages like C# and Python. In addition, I had the opportunity to present the several phases of the project and get feedback from several members of the company.
However, because the internship proposal had a large research and experimentation component, the end result did not use the studied tools as much as expected. Nevertheless, I learned in which situations it may be necessary to use them in order to balance the cost and performance of a project.
In addition to the project I developed, the integration in the company could not have been better. Pedro Vala, as my coordinator, helped a lot in the planning and guided me with the tools to use in various use cases. Besides Pedro, the whole team was very welcoming.
