New portal of the Portuguese Bar Association

Create IT was selected by the Portuguese Bar Association for developing its new web portal, in a great partnership and closely work project. The challenge was to create a website that represents an active extension of the Bar Association, that would provide an excellent user experience to professionals, and that unite information, services and people.
To do this, Create IT carried out a comprehensive assessment and diagnosis to overcome all the difficulties associated with the old website, particularly in terms of speed of access to information, ability of interaction between the users and the platform, and ease of reading/navigation regardless of the access device (desktop, tablet or mobile phone).
With a modern image and an approach focused on the involvement with the advocacy community, the new website presents the following main characteristics:
- Dynamism: website that goes far beyond a mere institutional presence, moving to a relational strategy
- Closely approach: interactive website promoting closer relationship with users
- Active communication: website that involves users in a two-way communication
According to Elina Fraga, President of the Portuguese Bar Association, "The new website and the new features allow the Bar Association to communicate more efficiently with colleagues, who can also interact faster, namely by registering online for training or events, participating in surveys, customizing schedules and receiving the newsletters and publications only on the themes that express interest. We want to be increasingly the privileged channel for easy and simple access to information that our colleagues need, anytime and anywhere."
The reserved area of the website has also been optimized for a better user experience, particularly with regard to the necessary tools to pursue the professional activity. Another of the most important innovations was the investment in a search engine with enhanced capacity to accelerate the search for information (legislation, case law and opinions of the Bar Association).
Create IT and the Bar Association have worked as one team, in a real partnership. The Portuguese Bar Association has shown a willingness and responsiveness that allowed developing the website with all the agility and quality. It should also be highlighted the professionalism of ISOBAR, the company responsible for the design, which played a critical role in the look-and feel and usability of the website.
To ensure that the deliverables always correspond to the envisioned and gather continuous feedback from the Bar Association, Create IT used the Scrum methodology, with 3 deliverables. Phase 1 of the project is finished and the website is online at www.oa.pt. Now it starts Phase 2 focused on the development of services to improve and facilitate the daily tasks of the advocacy professionals.
